proud to sponsor the first Robert Stewart Essay Competition
through the Montreal Press Club. This competition is for
full-time undergraduates studying journalism, communications
or public relations at an accredited Canadian university

- Rocky Mount, N.C. - RBC
Centura Bank announced twenty winning finalists in its 'Tribute
to Teachers' initiative, a program to recognize and reward
elementary and middle school teachers that demonstrate exceptional
community leadership. Four finalists were selected in each
of the five geographic regions in which RBC Centura does
business. Each winner received $500 in 'Classroom Cash,'
to be used for classroom learning tools such as art supplies,
visual learning aids and workbooks that compliment required
textbooks. In total, RBC Centura donated $10,000 under the
'Tribute for Teachers' program. A full list of the 20 honored

Denver, CO.- RBC Dain Rauscher
awarded $20,000 in scholarships to 10 high school-age
seniors around the state as a part of the company's Colorado
Scholarship Fund. Each student received a $2,000 college
scholarship for their exceptional achievement in the areas
of academics, leadership, community service, athletics
and/or the arts. Overcoming significant challenges and
financial needs were also taken into consideration. The
RBC Dain Rauscher Colorado Scholarship Fund was founded
in 2003 through the initiative of RBC Dain Rauscher.

Cacique awards
- In 2005, our Bahamas units adopted their local Cancer
Society of The Bahamas, Afterschool programs for less
fortunate children, and additional scholarship funds
for top government scholars to attend choice high schools
for senior years.
- Barbados: We pledged $150,000
CAD (over 3 years) to the University of West Indies.
- Brandon, Manitoba: For a
third consecutive year, RBC donated $5,000 to the Community
Adult Learning Centre. The centre offers adult courses in
literacy, computer skills and English as a second language.
- British Columbia: For the
fifth consecutive year, RBC donated $25,000 to the B.C.
Library Association's Summer Reading Club, a province-wide
program that encourages children to read throughout the
summer.

Calgary, Alberta: RBC employee
Wafa Kadri was presented with the Chairman's Excellence
Award by the mayor of Calgary. The award celebrates partnerships
between business and education, and recognizes individuals
who personify passion and commitment to successful partnerships.

Campbellton, Nova Scotia: RBC
Royal Bank donated $1,000 to the Campbellton Centennial
Library.

Charlottetown, P.E.I.:
RBC Royal Bank donated $2,000 to the Stella Maris Boys
and Girls Club Homework Club.

Gem, Alberta: RBC made
a $2,000 donation to the local 4H club, allowing them
to travel to Medicine Hat and raise awareness about BSE
among their urban peers.
- Glace Bay, Nova Scotia:
RBC donated $10,000 to Glace Bay.COM, a successful program
for students that offers homework assistance, tutoring,
and guides them through job searches and resume writing.
- Hinton, Alberta: The RBC
Foundation donated $5,000 to a library summer reading program.

Kelowna, British Columbia: RBC
funded the "Helping Hands" reforestation program
to raise awareness about reforestation and plant in students'
minds the idea that the environment is vital to their
future. In all, 23,000 students, staff and volunteers
planted a total of 134,000 seedlings at 50 sites in Kelowna.
- Lethbridge, Alberta: The
RBC Foundation donated $230,000 to the University of Alberta
for its Integrated Management Experience program.

Minnedosa, Manitoba: The
RBC Foundation donated $6,000 to the PULSE Literacy Program,
Minnedosa Big Brothers and Sisters and Communities in
Bloom.

Manitou, Manitoba: The
RBC Foundation donated $5,000 to the Lifelong Reading
Program at the Manitou Public Library. The program encourages
seniors to keep reading by delivering literature to seniors'
locations throughout the community.
- Ottawa, Ontario: With support
from the RBC Foundation, 375 students from Pinecrest Public
School visited the Canadian War Museum. Children participated
in a Remembrance Day presentations, explored exhibits and
spoke with veterans who were in attendance.

Pictou, Nova Scotia: RBC
donated $10,000 to the New Glasgow YMCA, giving the entire
student body at Pictou Landing First Nations School free
gym memberships at the YMCA till September 2006. The grant
will also be used for a YMCA after-school program conducted
twice weekly at the Pictou Landing school.

Red Deer, Alberta: The
RBC Foundation has helped launch a two-year Financial
Services Diploma at Red Deer College with a $125,000 donation.
- Rocky Mount, N.C.- RBC
Centura funded a $3500 scholarship to Winston-Salem State
University (WSSU) in North Carolina. The scholarship will
be available to undergraduate students from low-to-moderate
income areas interested in pursuing a career in the financial
services industry.

Centura contributed $12,500 to the ACCESS College Foundation
to help underprivileged children in Tidewater Virginia
gain access to higher education. More than 30,000 students
and their families have received help with college entrance
examinations, applying for financial aid, submitting final
applications and enrolling in college.

Centura donated $25,000 to Artspace, a nonprofit visual
art and education center in Raleigh, N.C. that attracts
more than 100,000 visitors each year. Artspace presents
exhibitions and educational programs in an open-studio
environment, will use RBC Centura's donation to improve
its facilities and expand its educational programs.

Centura donated $2,400 to fund financial education curriculum
at Camp Challenge, a summer camp for high-achieving middle-school
students from low-income families. Camp Challenge emphasizes
financial literacy to help young people build secure financial
futures.

Centura donated $10,000 to Methodist College in Fayetteville,
N.C., to help fund construction of a new science building,
and an additional $10,000 for scholarship aid through
the bank's gift to the Independent College Fund of North
Carolina.

2005 Annual Fund for Education. The donation will be used
to provide leadership and professional development for

the completion of the University's new business center.

to buy dinner at the park.

- Saint John, New Brunswick:
RBC donated $40,000 to Prince Charles School as part of
the RBC After School Grants Program. Forty-six children
at the school receive help with homework, tutoring and literacy
instruction, as well as physical education, music and drama.
- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan:
RBC has contributed three two-year fellowship awards of
$50,000 each ($25,000 for each of two years) to support
training for three specialists at Royal University Hospital
in Saskatoon, to help contend with long waiting lists, physician
retirements and maintain excellence in patient care.

Shelburne, Nova Scotia: RBC
Royal Bank's Clark's Harbour branch donated $2,000 to
a fundraising campaign for a new library.
- St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador:
The RBC Foundation donated $2,500 to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation for its Active Schools Program. The initiative
will provide youth with information and activities that
promotes an active, healthy lifestyle.
- St. Kitts: We provide bursaries
to students who have excelled in their Caribbean Examination
Council (CXC) exams for entry into the State College. Employees
also support a charitable club from which monthly donations
are made to needy organizations. Accumulated contributions
total approximately $120,000 Canadian.
- St. Stephen, New Brunswick:
RBC donated $2,000 to the Born to Read program.
- Toronto, Ontario: RBC provided
a $28,000 After-School grant to Braeburn Neigbourhood Place.
The grant will be used to help the organization offer learning
and skill development to children after the school bell
rings.

Whitby, Ontario: RBC donated
$10,000 in support of the fundraising efforts of the Whitby
Central Library.

Wolfville, Nova Scotia: The
RBC Foundation pledged $10,000 for a Student Bursary Foundation
Endowment Fund that addresses the needs of students with
learning disabilities at Landmark East School.
