Troubleshooting
Issues that may arise for an RBC client:
- The message, "An error has occurred" may be displayed if an incorrect password has been entered into the form within the HTML attachment.
Try again, or contact the RBC sender.
- The message, "An error has occurred. Please download the WebPush attachment..." may be displayed if you chose the attachment “Preview” function in a web-based email application instead of the download function.
Try again by clicking directly on the attachment link.
- Strange characters are displayed within French Text. Your computer may require additional language support options to properly decode French characters.
Refer to your system documentation or contact a system administrator or hardware support vendor for help.
- Opening a PDF attachment results in an error or browser shut-down.
Please ensure you download the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/reader

- You receive the message, "Page could not be displayed" the Secure Webmail system may have been taken offline temporarily for maintenance.
Try accessing the message again in a few hours.
- You can’t access the encrypted email as your software reports it as an "unsafe attachment". Your network security settings may need to be modified.
Contact a system administrator for help.
- You are asked whether to either "Open" or "Save" the attachment.
Choose the "Save" option. Note the save location (e.g. Desktop) and find and double-click the HTML attachment (e.g. "Click2View.html") to launch it in your web browser and continue.
Glossary
Encryption: the process of scrambling or encrypting data into a form that cannot be read or understood by unauthorized individuals, ensuring its security during transmission over the Internet.
Webmail: a method of accessing email via a web browser instead of a desktop email application.
